Steve Abee is a poet and teacher and longtime "love powered bullhorn" (said by Beck 20 years ago) member of the Los Angeles Poetry Scene , with four published books to his credit: King Planet, short stories and poems; The Bus: Cosmic Ejaculations of the Daily Mind in Transit--a ranting first person pure heart busride narration of the angels and all that falls inbetween; Great Balls of Flowers, pure poems; and Johnny Future, a novel about psycho soft guy searching for the real stuff,  and a CD Jerusalem Donuts, and a bunch chapbooks from before that from back in the now olden days of the 80's and 90's.  Amazing.

Here's the deal, poetry is the essential language of being, it is the secret music between things that sings to us all the bright muscle tear drop pure heart of us. Without it, we are not us. It is word music of our very electricity. It is the music of our electric words. It is our music. Our word. Our electricity.  We need it to breathe, to breathe for real.  Let your voice be heard. Tell the world who you are. 

What we will do:  share work for thoughtful and caring response and critique, participate in writing prompts and exercises, develop projects and exercises within the group.  Experiment. Express. Bring the inside out.  We will do exercises developed over Abee's years of teaching that have been inspired by the work of Surrealists, Beats, and American Pure Heart Pure Mind Poet Genius Courage Teacher, Papa Walt Whitman, amongst others.

This workshop is all about support and development of your voice  We will listen to discover what you are doing and saying, and help you develop that.  No Agendas beyond the sharing of the HUMAN WORD.
